The Vanessa Guillen mural design was created to bring awareness of the victims and survivors of military injustice. The tragic loss of Vanessa brought to light and question, “how many more without justice”. While her design is in black and white without her face honoring that she is not alone, but still the main focus of this much needed movement towards respect and justice in the military. The black and white was chosen to be bold, clear, and emphasize that in this case justice should be just that.
